Has it ever occurred to you that you invest as much energy to cultivate an unhealthy habit as you do a healthy one? Yet the outcome can be hundred miles apart. Your current state of health and wellbeing is a result of the small accumulative habits you’ve developed over the years.
Think about it. It takes the same amount of energy to eat a cookie as it does a carrot. It takes as much energy to go for a walk as it does to stay on the couch and blame yourself for being lazy.
So often we know what to do to stay healthy, we just choose not to do it. When we do, we feel healthy and happy. And the energy usually expended to hold ourselves back suddenly becomes available to move us forward.
So instead of saying “I can’t do anything,” say “I can drink lemon juice first thing in the morning so my digestion works better.” Instead of saying “I’m lazy,” say “I’ll do 5 minutes of yoga.” Instead of eating the wrong foods and feeling bad afterwards, choose the right foods and feel good.
Focus your attention and energy on being healthy and happy, and you will be. This is a simple law of nature: where attention goes, energy flows…
