The ancient Taoist wisdom puts great emphasis on “qi” – a life force that animates the forms of the world. When applied to our health, a balanced and free-flowing qi results in good health, while a stagnant or imbalanced qi leads to disease.
So what’s your state of qi?
This was the assignment for my inFinini Qi class last week. I found this exercise interesting and revealing. It’s a useful way to check in with yourself and see where you stand once a while.
Here are the few areas to look at:
How’s your immune system?
Take the following quiz and get some insights into the strengths and weaknesses of your body’s defensive ability against disease.
How’s your sleep pattern?
The quality of sleep has a big influence on your qi flow and overall health. I found a simple quiz to help you evaluate your sleep as well.
How’s your digestive system?
The food we eat is transformed into qi to sustain our life and daily activities. How’s your diet? How well do you breakdown and absorb nutrients and eliminate waste?
How’s your emotional state?
Where is your emotional home – the emotions you feel most often? How do your emotions change during a given day, a given week, or a given menstrual cycle? What are some of your emotional patterns?
How’s your ability to cope with life’s demand and responsibilities? Do you feel capable, confident and at ease? Or do you feel inadequate, overwhelmed or stressed?
On a scale of 1-10, what score would you give yourself in terms of your state of qi? Do you feel healthy, happy and vibrant, or otherwise?
