Did you know that each of your fingers is associated with a specific organ and a particular emotion? It’s true. And by just wrapping a finger you can calm its related emotion and gain control of your negative emotions at any time.
I learned this from the Taoist master Mantak Chia. His teaching is based on the Taoist traditions, the foundation of the Chinese medicine system with a history of many thousands of years.
According to the Chinese medicine:
The Thumb
The thumb corresponds to the earth element and the stomach. Its corresponding emotion is worry.
The Index Finger
The index finger corresponds to the metal element and the lungs and large intestine. Its related emotion is sadness, grief and depression.
The Middle Finger
The middle figure corresponds to the fire element, the heart, small intestine, circulatory system and respiratory system. Its related emotion is impatience and hastiness.
The Ring Finger
The ring finger corresponds to the wood element, the liver, gallbladder and nervous system. Its related emotion is anger.
The Pinky Finger
The pinky finger corresponds to the water element and the kidney. Its related emotion is fear.
Simply by wrapping a finger, you can calm its related organ and emotion. Here’s how you do it…
Wrap the fingers of the right hand around the left thumb, and then, one by one, squeeze, hold, and release each finger on the left hand three to six times. Then use the fingers of the left hand to wrap each finger of the right hand.
“Wow! You mean next time I start to get angry I can take control of it by simply wrapping my fingers instead of blowing up on someone?” The answer is yes. At a minimum it’ll help reduce the intensity of the negative emotion you may be feeling at that moment. The effect is even greater if you practice deep abdominal breathing at the same time.
Ladies, this method is especially beneficial when you’re experiencing PMS mood related symptoms. No need to analyze it or beat yourself up about it. Simply wrap your figures and feel a calmer sea. Hmm…
Give a try and find out for yourself.
Awesome! I love this technique!
