Detoxifying Herbal Teas

Last updated on April 5, 2018 By Jing J. 2 Comments

There’s a famous saying in Chinese Medicine, “Whenever there is stagnation, there is pain.” This pain can be both physical and emotional in nature. In fact, many of the menstrual disharmonines such as PMS, irregular periods, painful periods, fibroids, ovarian cysts, endometriosis, and polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) are all due to either the stagnation of energy or blood.

To harmonize menses and stabilize emotions, it’s important to remove toxins built up in your body that may be blocking the free flow of energy and causing stagnation in certain areas of your system.

Today I’m going to share with you several herbs that are famous for their ability to neutralize toxins, protect the liver, and promote healthy energy and blood circulation.

Dandelion Root

Dandelion root has been found by studies to enhance the flow of bile, relieve liver congestion, and aid the body in detoxifying. For a pleasant and gentle detoxifying effect, try the Yogi Detox Tea.

Milk Thistle

Milk Thistle protects and restores the liver, thanks to its active ingredient Silymarin, which has excellent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. You can take milk thistle as a supplement or make tea with it.

Turmeric

Turmeric speeds up the detoxification process in the whole body by increasing bile production and releasing and eliminating toxins. Put 1 tablespoon of turmeric in a pot containing 1 cup of water and stir over medium heat for 5 minutes.

Chrysanthemum Flower

Chrysanthemum flower is a famous Chinese herb that is traditionally used to cleanse the liver, brighten the vision, and neutralize toxins. People in China drink chrysanthemum flower tea on a regular basis for good health. It’s quite delightful – and good for you as well.

Hawthorn Berry

Hawthorn berry is a well-known Chinese herb commonly used to remove food stagnation, promote blood circulation, clear toxins, and soften hard masses in the body.

Nettle

Nettle safely and gently cleanses the body of metabolic wastes by promoting the excretion of wastes through the kidneys. This, by itself, will guarantee a lighter mood and more vibrant energy. It also cleanses the liver and enhances the liver’s ability to process estrogen more effectively, which reduces PMS and heavy menstrual bleeding. Read more about the benefits of nettle tea.

Pick a couple of teas to add to your detox routine. Experiment and have fun with them!

    HiJing

I want to drop you a line and say thank you for the helpful tips. I needed this like so yesterday. I bloat so bad every menstrual cycle and I am a thin person. I also have to be careful with sodium and sugar as I know also this is part of it too.

    Thanks,
    Cynthia;)
