In my travels to China, I came across of a couple of great tea recipes that are known to nourish blood, boost energy, and calm mood and spirit. These simple and delightful teas are my favorite companions for a healthy menstrual cycle and balanced moods all month long. I hope you’ll enjoy them as well.
American Ginseng & Red Date (Jujube) Tea

Those who are suffering from anxiety, stress, fatigue and lack of sexual desire will especially benefit from this tea to build up their stamina, improve their blood circulation, and sooth their minds.
Materials:
American ginseng (3 grams), red date/jujube (2), and tea (2 grams).
Direction:
Put American ginseng, red dates and tea in a teapot. Pour in boiling water and let it sit for a few minutes. And enjoy!
American Ginseng & Guiyuan (Longan) Tea
Benefits:
Nourishes blood, calms the nervous system, reduces irritability and brings down fatigue. It is also known to promote youthful skin!
Materials:
Longan (10 grams), American ginseng (3 grams), and brown sugar
Direction:
Put longan and American ginseng in a teapot. Pour in boiling water and let it sit for a few minutes. Add a touch of brown sugar if you desire. Personally, I prefer the natural and subtle sweetness of longan without sugar.
Red Date Tea
Benefits:
Nourishes blood, balances mood and spirit, especially wonderful for promoting a healthy menstrual cycle.
Materials:
Red dates (6 grams), red tea (5 grams), and brown sugar.
Direction:
Put red dates into a pot and fill the pot with water. Place the pot on the stove to boil. Follow the same instruction to boil the red tea. Blend the two waters from each pot and enjoy this nourishing and delightful tea. Add a touch of brown sugar if you desire.
When I get home from a busy day at work, I like to make a pot of my favorite tea. It is a great way to unwind from the day, and nourish my body and spirit. Check it out and let me know if you enjoy them as much as I do.
