Three Tips for Ladies with Irregular Periods

Last updated on June 6, 2018 By Jing J. Leave a Comment

If you experience irregular periods more often than a couple of times a year, it’s important to pay attention and begin to work on regulating your menstrual cycles.

tips for irregular periods

Irregular periods are believed to be a result of ovulation dysfunction – either anovulation (no ovulation) or oligovulation (infrequent ovulation).

When ovulation is disrupted, your body is not producing sufficient amounts of progesterone, the hormone that plays an important role in regulating your menstrual cycles.

Since women need fertilized eggs to conceive, irregular periods can lead to infertility, which is bad news if you’re hoping to conceive.

It may also indicate certain health issues, such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), thyroid problems, or premature ovarian failure.

Three Tips for Ladies with Irregular Periods

So if you experience irregular periods more often than a couple of times a year, it’s important to pay attention and begin to work on regulating your menstrual cycles to a 28-day cycle, if possible.

The earlier you start, the easier it is to correct it.

I believe there are three important aspects to consider:

1. Creating a Healthier Lifestyle

Simple lifestyle changes can make a big difference in regulating menstrual cycles, reducing PMS symptoms, and improving our overall health.

I know it can be hard to make the necessary changes on your own. So please join our community of women to create healthy and vibrant lives together!

2. Managing Your Emotions

In Chinese medicine, emotional stress, especially anger, frustration or resentment, is believed to be one of the leading causes of irregular periods.

So it’s important to understand and manage our emotions better, and aim to maintain a balanced mood on a daily basis.

Read how various emotions affect your menstruation.

3. Honoring Your Menstrual Cycles

Our bodies are sacred. And our menstrual cycles are sacred. If we can’t respect and honor the special gift we’ve been endowed with as women, how can we even talk about loving and respecting ourselves?

When I began to honor my menstrual cycles, my life began to change – for the better. I’m now healthier and happier than I’ve ever been. If I can do it, so can you!

Check out these 10 simple ideas to honor your menstrual cycles.

There is a Chinese saying: “A journey of three thousand miles begin with the first step.” I hope you’ll take the first step forward, and then the next step, continuing on one step at a time. It’s your life and you’re worth it!
