Period Pain? Let me share with you a simple tea recipe to break up qi and blood stagnation, warm the uterus, relieve pain, and promote a smooth menstrual flow.

Menstrual cramps, pains and mood swings are generally caused by some kind of stress, whether internal or external, that interrupts the natural blood and energy flows of the body.
A Simple Tea to Promote Menstrual Flow
In this post, I’m going to share with you a simple tea recipe to break up qi and blood stagnation, warm the uterus, relieve pain, and promote a smooth menstrual flow.
Ingredients:
- Hawthorn berries, 1.5-2 oz.
- Fresh ginger root, 0.5 oz.
- Red dates, 15 pieces
Directions:
Put all of the ingredients into a pot of water (4 cups). Boil for 10-15 minutes.
You can prepare 4 cups of tea that will last you for 2 days.
Just heat it up before you drink it. If you prefer a sweeter taste, add a teaspoon of honey to your tea (optional).
Start drinking this tea 3-5 days before your expected period. Drink 2 cups a day — one in the morning and one in the evening — until 3 days after you finish your period.
Continue for three menstrual cycles to achieve the best results.
Benefits:
Hawthorn Berry
Hawthorn berry is a well-known food herb in traditional Chinese medicine, mainly used to improve digestion, eliminate waste, strengthen heart function, lower blood lipids, and dilate blood vessels to promote blood circulation, which makes it an ideal remedy for menstrual pains and cramps.
Red Dates
Red dates strengthen the digestive system, promote energy, nourish blood, and calm the spirit.
This simple tea is quite effective in breaking up the blood clots, promoting a smooth flow of menstrual blood, and relieving period pain.
It helps you achieve the dual purposes of menstruation — to release the old blood completely so the new blood can be regenerated.

I love this site. This came at the time I needed it. Its that time of the month again and I am tired and overwhelmed this time. Lots of things going on and even busier days ahead. This is making this period even tougher.looking for relief through breathing … 🙁
Sonal, I hope you find moments to rest and take good care of yourself. As women, we tend to put others as priorities due to our nurturing nature. It’s also important to remember that we need to take care of ourselves first so we can better take care of others. Breathe, have some tea, rest, read, find some time for yourself and feel nourished my dear!
