I’ve been feeling tired and fatigued for about a week now. My usual energy and high spirit just kind of tanked – and I have to say that I really dislike the feeling. Maybe, once again, I put too much pressure on myself without being consciously aware of it. It’s hard to be me sometimes. I really wish I could just lay back and chill, but I have to work hard to do that, believe it or not.
So I’ve been working on getting myself to feel better. I’ve tried to take a nap here and there, and I’ve also tried to stay away from dairy products that tend to make me a little sluggish. You know, the basics. But I also found something new that I really enjoy…
A simple and fun essential oil remedy.
Kathi Keville, Director of the American Herb Association, recommended a refreshing and stimulating essential oil spray to fight fatigue in her book Herbs for Health and Healing. And it worked for me!
Here’s the recipe:
4 ounces sweet almond oil
15 drops lemon essential oil
4 drops eucalyptus essential oil
1 drop each cinnamon, peppermint and benzoin (if available) essential oils
Combine the ingredients, put them in a spray bottle and fill it up with distilled water. Then just spray it into the air or on your face whenever your energy or spirits need a lift.
I also like it to rub a little over my neck and chest area. Its aroma is quite refreshing and stimulating. It often wakes me up from my sleepiness.
Check it out and see how you like it!
