After writing my post yesterday, “Do you enjoy optimal health?” I actually had an energetic and productive day. It was as if a switch had been turned on. Very interesting. It seems that once you make up your mind about something, things begin to change…
I began to wonder, other than my decision to experience optimal health, what other factors helped me to feel better.
One thing that has made a difference for me is vitamin supplements.
Growing up, I thought that I could get all my necessary nutrients from the food I ate. It was probably true back then because my mom always took the time to make nutritious, balanced, and yummy meals for us.
Since I’ve been an adult, though, due to my work schedule and a lack of focus in this area, my diet has been all over the place. Not that long ago, some fruit, steamed veggies and tofu, and a handful of nuts would be my dinner. As a result, I suffered from fatigue, as well as mood and energy fluctuations, especially during pre-menstrual periods.
Despite the growing popularity of vitamin supplements, I have never taken supplements seriously and consistently, up until now. But certain vitamin deficiencies, identified via a recent blood test, made me realize that I wasn’t getting certain vitamins sufficiently from my meals. If vitamin supplements are what I need to improve my health, increase my energy and vitality, I am willing to let go my long-held belief and give it a try.
It has made a difference for me. I hope it will make a difference for you too.
