A List of Movies that Will Make You Laugh – Hard

Last updated on April 2, 2018 By Jing J. 2 Comments

Whether you’re in a PMS mood, a funky mood, crappy mood, cranky mood, sleepy or whatever mood, it’s always a treat to watch a funny movie. 9 out of 10 times watching a hilarious movie that makes you laugh until you cry will get you out of the slump you’re in and get you into a better mood.

I wasn’t really much into comedy in the past. For the most part I was a “Drama Queen” who loved the emotional intensity of high drama and the thrill of suspense. Acknowledging the undeniable benefits of silliness, goofiness and laughter, however, I decided to expand my horizons…

To help others enjoy some giggles, I recently posted a question on FaceBook, “What’s your favorite funny movie – the one that gives you a really good laugh?” And I got many enthusiastic recommendations from my FB friends! Thank you all!

(Note: It’s a virtue to spread the laughter.)

Here’s the list:

1.     Airplane

2.     Young Frankenstein

3.     Something About Mary

4.     Blazing Saddles

5.     The Big Lebowski

6.     The Wedding Crashers

7.     Little Miss Sunshine

8.     The Gods Must Be Crazy

9.     Full Monty

10.  Caddyshack

11.  National Lampoon’s Animal House

12.  A Fish Called Wanda

13.  Meet the Parents

14.  Planes, Trains and Automobiles

15.  When Harry Met Sally

16.  Mouse Hunt

17.  Bad Santa

18.  Bowfinger

19.  Raising Arizona

20.  Burn After Reading

21.  Rat Race

22.  Sleeper

23.  Duck Soup

24.  Animal Crackers

25.  Horse Feathers

26.  My Cousin Vinny

27.  Rango

28.  Best in Show

29.  Monty Python in Search of Holy Grail

30.  Ernest Saves Christmas

31.  The Men Who Stare at Goats

32.  What’s Up Doc?

33.  Step Brothers

34.  Murder by Death

35.  The Party

36.  Yes Man

37.  RIO

38.  The Naked Gun

39.  Clue

40.  Yours, Mine and Ours (1968)

So next time you’re in the mood (whatever mood that may be), order one of the above from Netflix. Just sit back, forget your worries (for a moment anyway), and get silly and goofy with some good laughter. Hopefully it’ll put you in a better mood than the one you were in before.

Please leave a comment if you’d like to add a movie to the list. Spread the laughter!

Pitch Perfect, What to Expect When You’re Expecting, White Chicks, She’s the Man, and Sydney White are also hilarious movies.
