The full moon is just around the corner. It represents fire, abundance, power and vitality. Celebrating the full moon is a wonderful way for us to reclaim our own power and make our vision a reality.
Over the years, I’ve experimented with various ways to celebrate the powerful full moon. Here are a few I’ve tried in the past. They may help to spark a few ideas of your own.
Swallow the moon
Taoist women have long been using a full moon meditation to help them cultivate and retain their youthfulness, sensuality and feminine power. Step outside, face the moon when it is just rising, and gently breathe in the lunar energy, swallowing it. Do this thirty times.
Drink the full moon water
Fill up your favorite teacup with water and leave it on the balcony overnight to soak up the delightful full moon energy. Drink it in the morning and let the full moon water nourish you and energize you.
Make a full moon collage
What do you want to create at this point in your life? Let your inner voice speak to you by making a collage. This exercise has revealed to me much about my life and myself. It’s quite fun, too!
Celebrate the five elements
When the five elements of wood, fire, earth, metal and water work together harmoniously, our life is also in balance and harmony. If you feel a need to strengthen one particular element, bring it into your full moon ritual. For example, if feel that you need more earth energy, going for a full moon hike or dancing on the grass with your bare feet may be a fun way to celebrate this element. Express your sensuality
The full moon goddess is bold and uninhibited. Express your sensuality fully and freely and share it with your partner. Imagine what’s like to make love under the beautiful full moon…
What are some ways you celebrate the full moon? Please share them with us. We’d love to discover your ideas.
Thanks for these wonderful ways of celebration! I’m so glad that other women do similar things. I have celebrated the moon ever since I began menstruating, I feel its power so strongly. Sometimes I light candles and sit in stillness, or in music, and meditate on being a woman. I try to really feel the moon, and to really feel my body. This is a good one when it’s overcast and I can’t see the full moon. But my favourite one is when I can see the full moon – I go outside and sit on the ground. I bathe myself in the moonrays and sing with the moon. I concentrate on the connection between the moon and myself, and feel how purifying and strengthening this link is. These moon celebrations leave me feeling whole, and fill me up until the next one.
Vild, thank you so much for sharing your experience. It’s very inspiring!! Next time when I celebrate the full moon, I’ll think of you and many other women around the world celebrating together 🙂
